Headaches & Migraines
Headaches or Migraines are one of the most common complaints we treat. Headaches are frequently caused by muscle or joint dysfunction in the neck, muscle tension or poor posture.
Cervical headaches are headaches that are caused by a variety of problems in the cervical (head and neck) region such as:
Cervical headaches may present as:
- Tension in the temple and jaw area (TMJ)
- Pain and tension in the neck
- Pain, pressure and ache in the forehead or back of the head
- Headache accompanied by a feeling of light headedness
- Pain in a band around the head
- Pain in the base of the skull which may aso be felt at the front of the head
Cervical headaches are successfully treated with physiotherapy including techniques such as postural correction, mobilisation, exercises, tissue massage, accupuncture, low level laser therapy and more.
